THE BAND
Named in part after a particularly dizzying trip to the refrigerator, college radio darlings Tiny Little Blackouts crashed the Bay Area music scene in 2009. Led by eminent SF songwriter Cameron Ember on vocals and rhythm guitar, with former Red House Painters Anthony Koutsos behind the drum kit, Michael Papenburg on lead guitar and Greg Merriman on bass, the band quickly rose to prominence playing to enthusiastic crowds on the local club circuit. And after just a handful of shows, their highly-melodic, dreamy American indie pop generated a healthy dose of A&R interest and nabbed the attention of renowned San Francisco engineer and producer Damien Rasmussen (Cibo Matto, Four Non Blondes, Dance Hall Crashers, Oranger, etc., etc.). The result: 2009's "idea of Alice", an atmosphere-rich masterwork released on Robot123 Records that somehow pays homage to bands as diverse as Fairport Convention, Led Zeppelin and the Cocteau Twins. Ember's jarringly-sweet, saintly voice is nothing less than riveting, especially when layered over Papenburg's lavish melodies and Koutsos' exacting work on the drums. "idea of Alice" quickly earned rave reviews in the zines and on the blogs that matter, and is already in heavy rotation at college and alternative radio stations across the country. All this, in only one short year of existence.

The second release from Tiny Little Blackouts is currently in production. This time, TLB is planning a less-subtle approach to their seductive warp and drift, with a definitively harder sound that travels even higher (and lower) than their debut record.

Bio
Some of Cameron Ember's solo and collaborative past recordings/collaborations have been included in feature film (Wayne Wang's "Center of the World"), and compilation CDs ("Invocation" on Six Degrees also featuring Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and "Fireworks" on The Unquiet Grave compilation put out on Cleopatra Records). In 2008 2 songs were sold to a company that does music for shows like TMZ and Blind Date. They were sold in their entirety, including the master, so those two went bye-bye for good. Oh well.

l tracks on the latest 2 Cameron Ember eps were recorded & engineered at home by Cameron Ember. No vocal effect (other than multi-tracking), non-linear editing or pitch correction was used.
